12 Noon and 3pm Masses

A beautiful Icon of St. Brendan will be venerated at the 12 noon and 3pm Masses in the Basilica on his feast day, Thursday 16^th of May. St. Brendan is believed to have been born in the 6^th century and was renowned for his journeys of exploration and unflinching faith in God amidst the greatest storms.

In this Icon, St. Brendan is depicted in a small sailing boat in a very stormy sea, praying and holding tight the Book of Gospels.

This Icon was created by Susie Smith and will form part of a large exhibition of Icons opening at Knock Museum on 31^st May.
