St. Brigid’s Day heralds the start of Spring and the promise of longer and brighter days ahead. The annual St. Brigid’s Cross-making workshops at Knock Museum are always a great way to mark the day and learn a new skill that has been practiced in Ireland since the 5th century. The craft workshops were suspended last year due to the pandemic and the team at Knock Museum are delighted to announce that this year’s workshops will take place on Tuesday 01 February throughout the day (10-5pm). All materials supplied and booking is not required.
Bring your Cross to one of our public Masses (12 noon, 3pm & 7.30pm) afterwards to have it blessed.
The award-winning museum is an ideal place to begin a visit to Knock Shrine. Set in the midst of beautifully landscaped gardens, visitors can step back in time and learn more about the compelling story of how this small rural village has grown to become a world renowned International Shrine.
Knock Museum is open daily from 10am-5pm and offering free admission. This is a great way to spend time and learn all about the unique and fascinating history of Knock Shrine.
