The annual Mass and gathering for bereaved parents will take place this year on November 8th.
The Mass will be celebrated by Fr Gary Howley in St John’s Rest and Care Centre at 3pm.
The names of all those children being remembered will be read out during the Mass and a candle will be lit for each name.
Names can be enrolled on the day or be sent in advance to The Family Centre.
The Family Centre at Knock Shrine has a number of support services available to those who are dealing with loss and grief.
An afternoon talk on the theme ‘Finding hope after death and loss’ will take place in The Family Centre, Knock Shrine, Co Mayo, on Sunday, November 15, at 3pm.
The talk will be delivered by Monica Morley, director of The Family Centre, and it will cover how to journey through the stages of loss and grief and find peace anew with life.
Numbers will be limited to 40 (as space allows) so booking in advance will be essential.
The Family Centre has also started a new weekly bereavement support, meeting on Wednesday mornings at 11am
The support group will be an opportunity for those who feel the burden of grief and who would like to feel supported by others who know the experience. The group will meet for an hour of sharing, chat and discussion.
The group will be facilitated by trained leaders and will include a short prayer time to remember all those who have died.
