October is a lovely month which is specially dedicated to the Rosary. As the evenings draw in, this is an ideal time to set some time aside to pray the Rosary every day.
In May, many people set up Marian altars in their homes. You might like to do the same for the month of October.
The Rosary will continue to be streamed online each evening at 7pm here. All are invited to join with us to pray the Rosary together.
For the month of October, we invite you set set up your own prayer space or altar at home. Use this special, sacred space to help you to pray the Rosary each day.
Creating a prayer space reminds everyone in the household that prayer is an important part of everyday life. When you create a prayer space in your home, you are reminded of God’s presence at all times, while also making a connection between church and home.
Think about where you would like your prayer space to be. It can be a quiet corner of a room, a peaceful space in the garden or in the hallway of your home to encourage all who pass to pause for a moment of prayer.
Gather together some items to help you feel more connected to Our Lady. These can be everyday simple items such as a candle, a photograph, rosary beads, a small statue, cross or Bible.
A piece of cloth can also be laid out to give your space an extra special feeling.
You can also consider leaving a small bowl or basket in the centre for petitions or post prayers on a noticeboard.
