Family Focus Week   

With the impending visit of Pope Francis to Ireland and Knock Shrine, our Family Focus Week this year has a clear emphasis on the invitation Pope Francis gives to families, to live happy and contented lives, in his document ‘Amoris Laetitia – The Joy of Love’.  

Exploring how we can best understand and respond to its message, the week will include daily workshops at 12 noon and 8.30 pm and opportunities for prayer with Mass at 3pm and a Holy Hour at 7 pm.  A children’s blessing ceremony will take place on Saturday as 12 noon for all children (0-12 years). A special family candle will be lit at the Shrine and in the Basilica during this week, as we continue to pray for all families in advance of the World Meeting of Families meeting this August.

The programme will include daily evening and morning workshops with guest speakers. The topics include overcoming the grip of addiction, keeping faith in difficult times, coping with grief and lots more.
