‘Knock 140’ Competition Winners

Earlier this year, over 100 schools from all around the country took part in our ‘Knock 140’ competition. The aim of the competition was to celebrate and commemorate the 140th anniversary of the Knock Apparition through the medium of their choice – art, sculpture, music, video.  The judging panel had a very difficult decision to make and,  after much deliberation,  our worthy winners were chosen.

Representing Moyne College in Ballina, Co. Mayo, the winners are  Louise Langan, Mary Ruane, Vincent Chambers and Oliwia Kraus.  These young students composed  and performed a hauntingly beautiful new song for Knock entitled ‘ In Mayo, Our Lady of Knock’. The winning entry was premiered at the 140th  anniversary celebrations on the 21st of August and received a rapturous round of applause from the congregation.
