We have had a wonderful reaction to our newest exhibition at our award winning Knock Museum. The 3 dimensional scale model is an exact replica of the village of Knock as it was on the day of the Apparition on the 21st of August 1879. The village recreation is filled with wonderful miniature details of the old Church, the houses that the witnesses lived in, the schools, pathways and farmland at the time. It offers a fascinating insight into village life in Knock and into the historical and social context of the Knock Apparition.
The model is the work of Colin Patten, an experienced model maker who has worked with many museums and exhibition centres including Waterford City Museum. Knock Museum is open daily from 10am to 6pm.
