Michaela Foundation summer camps returning to Knock Shrine

The HUB at Knock Shrine is once again to host the hugely popular Michaela Foundation Summer Camps from July 18 to 22 and the organisers are seeking volunteers to take part in this fun and faith filled initiative.

The camps promote the themes of Fun, Faith, Fashion, Well Being and Fáilte and the ultimate aim is to give girls aged 11 to 13 a week to remember, while also helping them to grow in self-esteem and confidence.

Volunteering at the camp is a perfect opportunity to enhance a CV, make new friends and have fun.

Furthermore, each volunteer will receive an exclusive Michaela Foundation Camp jersey from O’Neill’s.

“It was definitely one of the best weeks of my life. I met so many new people and have been recommending the camp to every parent I meet. I keep telling them that it is completely different from any other regular summer camp. It develops both campettes and volunteers as people.” – 2015 Summer Camp Voluntary Leader

Activity specific training will be provided for all voluntary leaders. First aid and child protection training will also be provided for all volunteers.

The Mayo camp is one of 20 camps taking place in 2016.

This is the fifth anniversary of the Michaela Foundation, which was set-up in memory of Michaela McAreavey to promote the values and beliefs dear to Michaela and her family.
