Feast Day of St. Brendan, Thursday, May 16th
12 Noon and 3pm Masses
A beautiful Icon of St. Brendan will be venerated at the 12 noon and 3pm Masses in the Basilica on his feast day, Thursday 16th of May. St. Brendan is believed to have been born in the 6th century and was renowned for his journeys of exploration and unflinching faith in God amidst the greatest storms.
In this Icon, St. Brendan is depicted in a small sailing boat in a very stormy sea, praying and holding tight the Book of Gospels.
This Icon was created by Susie Smith and will form part of a large exhibition of Icons opening at Knock Museum on 31st May.
