Pope John Paul II 40th Anniversary Mass

This weekend we mark the 40th anniversary of the visit of Pope John Paul II to Ireland and to Knock Shrine, which he described as ‘the goal of my journey’.  We will hold a special commemorative Mass  on Sunday, September 29th at 12pm in the Basilica, where Pope John Paul II addressed the Sick during his 1979 visit.  This is a lovely opportunity to remember that special visit and to remind ourselves of the homily that His Holiness gave when he addressed the huge crowds that had gathered here in Knock 40 years ago.
