For over 40 years Brendan Hoban has been writing weekly columns for the Western People and this year he received a Local Media Award as Columnist of the Year, 2024. To celebrate this honour he has published Just a Thought, over 150 columns some of which figured in the submission for his award.
The judges commended him ‘for challenging the conscience of a nation’ and contributing for many years authoritative insights into the key issues of our time. This book presents a cross-section of his interests and enthusiasms and the open and engaging style in which he has written over 2,000 columns.
