Stations of the Cross at Knock Shrine

As we journey through the season of Lent, we are invited to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, who suffered, died, and rose from the dead for our salvation. One way to do this is by participating in the Stations of the Cross, a devotion that allows us to meditate on the events of Jesus’ Passion and death.

During the Stations of the Cross, we walk with Jesus, stopping at each of the 14 stations to reflect on a particular moment in his journey to Calvary. Through prayer, meditation, and contemplation, we enter into the mystery of Christ’s love and sacrifice for us.

As we approach Easter, the Stations of the Cross can also help us to prepare our hearts and minds for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. By meditating on the events of his Passion, we are reminded of the victory that he won for us on the cross, and we are filled with hope and joy as we anticipate the glory of his resurrection.

So, let us take up the cross and follow in the footsteps of our Lord this Easter. Let us meditate on the Stations of the Cross, and allow the mystery of Christ’s love to transform our lives.

At Knock Shrine, the Stations of the Cross can be performed at the Outdoor Calvary beside the Parish Church, in the Basilica where you can meditate on the beautiful Stations of the Cross oil paintings, at the traditional stations in the Parish Church, or at Calvary Hill.
