Day Care for Seniors From Local Parishes

St. John’s Welcome Centre is embedded in the fabric of the local community. It is a place of welcome – for people to come together, to have fun and to chat to other people in a safe environment. The Day Care Group takes place every Tuesday and Wednesday on a weekly basis. We are delighted to welcome back our members and are actively seeking new members to join from the community.

We offer a mini bus service to those who require transport to and from the centre. Day Care is ideal for seniors who live alone and who would benefit from some good company, and a nourishing meal. We can accommodate people who have mild mobility issues; however, we do not have any nursing staff working here at the Centre.

Tea and a homemade scones are available on arrival at approximately 10am and our clients enjoy  a chat until 12 noon, when Holy Mass is offered. A three-course lunch consisting of homemade soup, a main course and dessert is available at 1pm.

Afternoon activities include arts and crafts with a qualified tutor,  gentle exercises, singing/entertaining/poetry recitation and Bingo. Our day concludes at approximately 3 pm.

Our regular clients thoroughly enjoy coming to Day Care and we are delighted that we can offer more people the opportunity to spend time with us.

Contact the centre at 094 93 88100, extension 136 for more information.
