  • A recognised and accredited qualification in Counselling/Psychotherapy
  • Individual Accreditation with IACP/IAHIP/ICP/PSI /BACP

 Part time position – 2 days per week.

Job Description – Counsellor/ Psychotherapist

 

This job description forms the basic requirements of your employment. This list is not exhaustive and there will be occasions when you will be required to perform duties outside the scope of your job description. You will be expected to carry out whatever duties may be assigned to you by your Manager and you will be required to be flexible in this position.

 

Main Tasks

 

To work as an integral member of Knock Counselling Team.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • To conduct individual and/or group/couple counselling/therapy with adults.
  • To provide a maximum of twenty-two client contact hours per week on a full-time contract.
  • To inform clients about the limitations of confidentiality and general service information when attending Knock Counselling Centre.
  • To establish appropriate psychotherapeutic contracts with clients to facilitate a high-quality counselling experience. This includes sharing information about the limitations of confidentiality and other service issues relevant to becoming a client at KCC.
  • To attend external clinical supervision in line with the supervision policy
  • To attend regular case-management and managerial supervision with the Director of Counselling

 

Organisational Duties:

 

  • To deputise in the absence of the Director of Counselling as required.
  • To attend meetings, case conferences, etc, as required by the Director of Service.
  • To liaise with relevant statutory and voluntary agencies if appropriate to promote the wellbeing of the Client.
  • To contribute to and safeguard the good reputation of the service in all dealings with external agencies.
  • To implement the aims, objectives and policies of the organisation at all times.
