This special day was instituted by Pope John Paul II in 2002 as a way to offer prayers for all those suffering from illnesses. The day coincides with the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes. From its earliest days, Knock has been a place of healing for those who are sick in mind, body and soul. During this pandemic, the World Day of the Sick is an opportunity to pray for all those who are sick and for those who are caring for them.
We invite you to join us online for daily Mass on this special day at 12 noon and 7.30pm, with Rosary at 7pm, as we come together to pray for our loved ones who are dealing with illness at the moment.
